Diagnostic Sensors

Fleet Monitoring Systems That Save You Time and Money

Safefreight's fleet management system – SmartFleet® - interfaces with custom or OEM sensors to provide key temperature, security and diagnostic information that helps you better monitor the status of your fleet assets and their cargo. Our range of digital sensors include:

  • Trailer temperature sensors - monitor the fluctuation in trailer temperature and immediately alerts you when thresholds are exceeded.
  • Cargo security sensors  – onboard alarm system that deters theft and immediately reports violations
  • Maintenance and security sensors  - provides maintenance data, performance data and theft or misuse detection.
  • Diagnostic sensors – monitors system components to alert you to safety issues (like speeding and seatbelt violations), operating and productivity.

Fleet Maintenance and Security Sensors for Trailers, Trucks and Other Fleet Vehicles

Improved asset maintenance through predictive and preventative maintenance interfaces to engine diagnostics or through Safefreight’s onboard working hour feature that observes and identifies key milestones and maintenance thresholds. Choose from:

Temperature Tracking Sensor - When temperatures drop below or climb above pre-determined values, you know immediately so that you can take steps immediately to avoid costly loss or spoilage. Our GPS fleet management system provides real-time temperature monitoring system and can monitor one or more zones in a reefer temperature controlled environment.

Door Sensors - You know immediately when doors and panels are opened or closed.

Keypad / Keyfob - Our 12-key keypad or optional keyfob component allows for arming, disarming and controlling the security system at the asset itself. All keycodes are saved in the SecurityGuard™ system and reflected to SmartFleet® Manager. Keycodes can also be controlled by SmartFleet® Manager.

Accelerometer - Our SecurityGuard™ devices are equipped with a low power 2-axis accelerometer that offers the following capabilities or alerts: power management, hookup detection, geofence violation, collision, shock, etc.

Glass Breakage - Our glass break sensors can detect when glass has been cracked or shattered. Either acoustic or profile mounted.

Smoke / Heat Detectors - Safefreight can recommend which of our smoke detectors is best for your application - ionization or photoelectric. Ionization detectors respond more quickly to flaming fires with smaller combustion particles; photoelectric detectors respond more quickly to smoldering fires.

Other features that Safefreight has under development include:

J-Bus / ODBII / ODBIII - Track key performance indicators and thresholds such as mileage, operating temperature, oil pressure, odometer readings and more. Data that does not fit within your pre-determined parameters is reported back in tabular or graphical form to avoid potential problems and failures. Data can also be exported to custom or standard commercial fleet maintenance programs. These sensors are compatible with the SAE J1708, J1939, ODBII and ODBIII vehicle bus standards.

Wet Level - Keep track of industrial liquid levels – temperature, pressure, vibration and shock. These sealed sensors are designed for long life and easy clean-up and are housed in stainless-steel. Typical applications include water, fuel, chemicals, etc.
