GPS Freight Tracking

Advanced Freight Management Systems

Technology in the transportation and logistics industry is quickly transforming business management and operations. Leading edge wireless applications can help transportation managers improve the metrics of their freight logistics in the supply chain through implementation of these relatively new technologies.

Tracking the location and status of vehicles, trailers and their freight through GPS (global position system) and cellular technology is a strategic approach to fleet, vehicle and freight management. Safefreight provides critical location and security information through the vehicle-mounted SecurityGuard™ smart device. This information is communicated wirelessly (by cellular and/or satellite) and served to the customer through Safefreight's internet software application - SmartFleet® Manager.

Improved Freight Logistics

Safefreight’s integrated telematic solutions provide timely and  accurate visibility of vehicles, trailers and freight, allowing you to:

  • Better manage shipments by responding to problems or changing customer requirements.
  • Improve on-time delivery with the ability to determine in real-time accurate arrival times, load locations and status.
  • Minimize risk and losses due to theft or spoilage with onboard sensors that notify you immediately when your assets may become have compromised.
  • Plan for optimized asset use by monitoring “dropped” and detained trailers at customer sites.
  • Improve trailer-to-tractor ratios for better productivity.
  • Receive information about load status, door open/closed, hooked/unhooked, tractor identification, and trailer temperature.

Safefreight’s SmartZone™ technology allows you to draw a radius of security to guard against the risk of asset theft or mismanagement with the following tools:

GeoFence

A digital fence around your asset provides a secure perimeter. Once this asset-centric fence is broken (typically 50m – 250 m) an alert is immediately sent that notifies you of the breach.

GeoZone

Plot a digital geographic perimeter of any shape around your customers’ locations and receive arrival and departure notification as your vehicles cross the perimeter. These notifications can be tied to a specific action, such as disarming the SecurityGuard™ device on the trailer remotely once your cargo enters a secured client drop-off point.
